A: In high school you must take medical
terminology , nursing, Cardiology, biology, chemistry,math,
and phycholgy. To become a cardiologist you need to take
classes that deal with human Cardiology, cardiology, math,
biology, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry,
english, etc. you have to have a good idea of the body
through the dissection of cadavers (obviously) and then
you need to get your doctoral degree and take up a
residency for about 3-6 years

A: This is a person who does the heart
surgeries (such as people who do
surgery after heart
attacks). Interventional cardiology refers to
non-surgical procedures used in the treatment of
coronary artery and peripheral vascular disease and
performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Balloon angioplasty, atherectomy (surgical removal of
arterial plaque), eximer laser, stent deployment and
direct intervention for acute myocardial infarction
(heart attack) are among the procedures performed by
interventional cardiologists.

surgeon and lets say a interventional cardiologist?
A: A cardiac surgeon is a surgeon, obviously,
who goes through a general
surgery residency and then a
cardiothoracic surgery fellowship. An interventional
cardiologist is a cardiologist, not a surgeon, who
completes an Internal medicine residency, a cardiology
fellowship, then an interventional cardiology
fellowship.
